I’M GOING TO AMSTERDAM WITH MY BEST FRIENDS NEXT MONTH
ok so last time I was there I saw some terrible things and did some even more terrible things, but its the city of tolerance, and if it can be tolerant with me I think I should be tolerant with the prostitute forcing me to eat things out of certain places.
we’re going to go to a coffeeshop. go to the ice bar, do a pubcrawl and if oj can manage to convince me to face it again we’ll go to a sex show…just hopefully no freaky 80 year old goth sex this time.
we’ll do other things too, so we have at least something we can tell our parents about. we’re going to rent bikes and take the train to edam to ride around the canals and have a picnic next to a windmill (vodka optional).
lets just hope this time theres no nerdy Australians eating 2 space brownies then drooling all over me in a hotel foyer at 4am. i’ll also be keeping an eye out for frisky Portuguese bus drivers and annoying guys who want a sleepover in my room because ‘fuck my rooms all the way up on the next floor’.
the bar crawl will be so fun, theres an hour of unlimited vodka shots so god knows how we’ll even make it to the six other places. I think it’ll be good practice for when the dams my first stop on my tour in September, last year it beat me but it can’t this time because i’ll have 3 weeks to keep going for.
i’m excited, really really really excited, why is my life so awesome?
love love LOVE the opportunities contiki have given me…i’m stuck in a place full of people with no ambition to go looking for something new and now I’ve found a way to finally be myself.
Its been 8 months since I went on my tour, and I still smile everyday at random memories, photos, songs, flashbacks and messages. I’ve got 4 months until my next one and everyday I dream of hitting the road again.
there really isn’t a way to describe the feeling of the rush it gives me. the way you wake up, 3 hours after getting in from partying hard in the centre of a foreign, beautiful city, pinch yourself when you realise where you are (and to wake you up), get back on that bus and head out for another day with new experiences in a new place. the people all have the same mindset - do everything, go everywhere, no regrets. i just love it.
